For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, Romans 1:18 WEB
We serve a holy God of righteousness and truth. God is patient but does not allow sin to go unpunished. As sinners, we are either repentant and forgiven in Jesus Christ or we are under the wrath of God. For those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, the wrath of God was satisfied in him on the cross. Those who reject Jesus as Savior reject the atonement sacrifice all sinners need to be in the holy presence of God.
Paul writes in Romans 3:10, “As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one. WEB” He adds in Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” We all have a problem we alone cannot solve. We each need forgiveness for sinning against the will of our perfect Creator. Only God’s grace can provide that forgiveness. That’s why it is so important to share the truth of the Good news of the gospel message.
God’s Love in Christ
Jesus Christ demonstrated God’s love for mankind as he died on the cross for our sins. Those who accept Chrst as Lord and Savior gain access to our Father in heaven as the Lord adopts us into his holy family. God’s love is greater than his wrath. Maintaining his righteous anger and judgment against sin, God forgives the repentant.
As sinners, we were all under the wrath of God. By the grace of God, through Jesus Christ those who believe are saved. The bible teaches of Jesus in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. WEB”
The Lord wants a personal relationship with each of us. He demonstrated his love in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ. God extends his forgiveness to anyone who repents from sin and turns to his righteousness.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for forgiving my sins. Thank you for sharing your righteousness with me. Help me to live according to your will. Help me to live a godly life of service to you and your kingdom. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
