Salvation to All Men

Salvation to All Men

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, Titus 2:11 WEB

This scripture encourages an understanding of the willingness of God to forgive sinners and reconcile them to his holiness. God’s grace that brings salvation to all men is a reference to Jesus Christ as the Savior of all mankind. Prior to the ministry of Jesus, salvation was focused only on Jewish people.

Jesus famously teaches in John 3:16, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. KJV” This heralds salvation for anyone who accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Clearly stating his purpose for salvation to all men who accept him, Jesus instructs his disciples to evangelize the world saying in Mark 16:15, “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation.’ WEB”

One in Christ Jesus

In Paul’s writings, he teaches that race and background are meaningless in relation to our salvation in Jesus Christ. The apostle writes in Galtians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. WEB”

Continuing the epistle to Titus, Paul teaches that the grace of God teaches men to reject wickedness and worldly passions. Instead, grace encourages the faithful to follow the will of God with self control. The message shares that a godly life is one in which the faithful are eager to do what is good in the sight of the Lord.

Similarly, Paul teaches godly behavior and salvation to all men in Collosians 3:9-11 writing, “Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Christ is all, and in all. WEB”

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for the encouragement of your holy word. Thank you for providing a way for the salvation of all men. Guide my steps to live by your will. Give me the things I need to serve your purpose for my life. In Jesus name – Amen”
