Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. Revelation 5:12 KJV
When Jesus was about to be arrested, he knew what was coming next. We read in John 17:1, “Jesus said these things, then lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; WEB” Jesus, the Lamb of God, was completing his Earthly ministry, preparing to be the final atonement sacrifice for our sins.
This passage from Revelation presents a scene of many angels praising Jesus Christ. In addition, other living creatures and the elders praise the Lord. The angels and the others were applauding God and Christ saying that they have, “the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen! WEB” Worthy is the Lamb!
Seeking Heavenly Rewards
God is worthy of praise. Jesus is also worthy of our praise. But how often do we take the time to worship and praise throughout the day? Rather than seeking worldly wisdom, riches, honors and glory, Jesus sought to please God and do his will, knowing that the greater reward is in heaven.
Challenge yourself to set time aside to praise and worship God. Let it be our habit to give thanks for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and to pray continually as the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. WEB” We do best when we rejoice in all things, pray always and live with an attitude of gratitude.
In addition to setting aside a time to be alone with God in prayer and worship, we can pray on the way to work, during errands, and other activities. The more time we spend in the word, in praise and prayer, the deeper and more developed our relationship will be with the Lord.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for sending your Son to pay for my sins. Worthy is the Lamb of your glory! Guide me to do your will here on Earth, to honor you and Christ. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
