Wisdom from God

Wisdom from God

Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 1 Corinthians 1:30 WEB

In the previous verses, Paul states that God chose the low things, the despised things and the things that do not exist to put an end to the proud and the things that do exist. God directed Jesus Christ to overcome the evil of this world.

The Lord came to put an end to sin and death. In time, those who rejected him will stop boasting about their strength and wisdom. When Christ returns, they will be confronted by the reality of his strength and power.

Every Knee Will Bow

The right to boast belongs to none of us. Paul addresses this issue in Ephesians 2:8-9 saying, “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. WEB” Saved or unsaved, the wisdom of God makes every man humble in the end.

This is also asserted in Romans 14:11 which alludes to a passage from Isaiah saying, “For it is written, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God. WEB”

Christ is the wisdom of God in human form. Jesus made it possible for us to be righteous. The blood of the Lamb of God sanctifies us from sin. Christ redeems us to God through his loving sacrifice on the cross. When we believe, God the Father adopts us as his own sons and daughters.

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for forgiving my sins. Thank you for the gift of salvation through belief in your Son, Jesus Christ. I humble myself before you and ask that you supply my needs as I serve your purpose with my life. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
