The Lord Is Mighty

The Lord Is Mighty

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 KJV

The Lord is mighty. In him the faithful take refuge. The Lord is mighty. He fights our battles for us. There is great benefit in living according to his word. When we live in obedience to God’s word, he is not only with us, but he is also pleased with us. God celebrates his people. Ours is a God that saves and rejoices over us.

The Lord Corrects Us

God is not in our lives to condemn us. The Lord is mighty and will correct us but also the Lord protects us. The Lord withholds his blessing when we are living sinful lives but celebrates us when we live according to his will. As we read in Proverbs 3:12, “For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. KJV” A loving God will not encourage our sin by rewarding it. However, when we repent, turning to him and giving up sin, he restores us.

Our heavenly Father takes joy in those who follow his will. He gives eternal life to all who trust in the name of Jesus Christ. God desires that each of his children seek him and trust in him. Wherever you have been and whatever you have done, God is able and willing to save you. He wants to save and rejoice in each of us.

When we repent from sin and put our faith in Jesus Christ, believing he died to pay for our sins, we are free in Christ. And heaven rejoices as we read in Luke 15:7, “I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance. WEB”

Prayer: “Father God, praise your holy name. I am free in Christ and rejoice in you. Thank you for your saving grace. Search my heart and show me where I can improve as I submit to you. You love me better than anyone else could, better than I love myself. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
