But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7 KJV
As Christians, it is the grace of God that saves us. God freely gives us the gift of salvation through belief in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins. No matter what our level of sin, when we truly repent and believe, salvation is ours.
In the parable of the workers in the vineyard, some workers labored longer than others. They complained that they received the same reward as those who came to the field late. In Matthew 20:15, Jesus answered the complaint saying, “Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?” No matter the situation, God’s grace is sufficient for each believer. He generously supplies us with the amount of grace and provision required for salvation and service in his name.
The Grace of God
God gives each of us exactly what we need. The gift of Christ covers all sin. Beyond that, God’s grace gives us the tools and ability to serve him effectively. Paul taught in Ephesians 3:8, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. KJV” God’s grace is sufficient not only for salvation but also for the service that follows.
We serve a mighty God that is able to provide for each of our needs. He knows exactly what we need, and God knows how to supply those needs. The Lord gives gifts to each believer at varying levels that we use in unity with one another to accomplish his will here on earth.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for your grace and for the gift of Christ. Thank you for trusting me to do your will. Guide me to use what you give me with wisdom. Help me to work in unity with the body of Christ. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
