Made Near in Christ

Made Near in Christ

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation, Ephesians 2:13-14 WEB

Our sin separates us from God. In these passages, Paul is writing about how far from God the Gentiles had been before coming to Christ. He is proclaiming that the blood of Christ had changed that and brought the believer near to God, closer to Jesus. The Lord is a God of mercy and salvation.

God Is Faithful to Forgive

Even before Christ came in the person of Jesus, the scripture recorded in Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.  KJV” This is the astonishing love of our merciful Father. When we admit that we are wrong and that God is righteous, turning from our sin, God is faithful to forgive us.

We are saved by God’s grace. The blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ washes away our sin. The wall of separation between us and God is broken down and we are made one with the Lord, receiving the peace that only comes from faith in Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with our effort. God loves us and saves us through the sacrifice of his son, Jesus.

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for calling me to Christ. Thank you for the mercy and grace you demonstrate through Jesus’ sacrifice. Keep me in peace and lead me in your word for the rest of my days on Earth, that I will be with you in the kingdom of heaven. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
