I Will Strengthen You

I Will Strengthen You

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NIV

So many things can cause distress in this world. There is disease and war. We may have challenges at work or in school. Relationships may be strained, or we may have financial insecurity. But remember, God is faithful to support you. Whenever we face difficult circumstances, we grow in relationship with God when we trust in his word. God will strengthen us and lead us through to victory.

As Christians, we are grafted to the vine of God’s chosen people. Because of this, the promises in Isaiah apply to believers in Christ. As we read in Romans 11:18-19, “don’t boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, ‘Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. WEB”

God knows his people will have doubts and discouraging thoughts, and so he reminds us that he is with us in support. The Lord reassures us with his word and his loving kindness. God says, “I will strengthen you.”

Prayer: “Father God, eliminate fear in my heart. You are faithful to those who follow your will. I have nothing to fear because you are with me. Increase my understanding as I study your word and thank you for upholding me with your righteous right hand. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”
