He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 WEB
Paul writes in this portion of Romans of the effects of saving faith. Anyone who accepts Christ through faith receives eternity in heaven with God. The apostle offers many encouraging words in previous scriptures, finally saying in Romans 8:31, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? NIV”
We all have difficulties in life. Circumstances may lead a believer to wonder if God is really for them. Paul offers the fact that God didn’t spare his own Son but gave him up for our salvation. If God gave his own Son, what then will he withhold from us? As the famous verse goes from John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. KJV”
Jesus Christ The Redeemer
As faithful believers in Christ, God is our provider. The Holy Spirit is our comforter. Jesus Christ is our redeemer. The Lord leads us down the narrow road, with a purpose in mind. As we grow spiritually, we become more like Christ and less like our sinful selves. God guides us on the only path that leads to eternal life, specifically, faith and trust in Jesus.
Predestined to the family of God, Jesus calls us to the Father through the gospel story, the holy word of God. After accepting Christ as Savior, it is our responsibility to share the good news of salvation with others to call God’s eternal family together. We need strength and understanding to accomplish this. Paul lets us know that God is not only able to provide for our needs but willing to freely give to us the things we will need along the way.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for freely giving the gift of salvation. I trust you to provide for my needs. Help me to better understand your ways and your word. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
