Glory Forever

Glory Forever

For of him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:36 WEB

Paul precedes this statement with a reference to Isaiah 40:13, “Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counselor hath taught him? KJV” He then refers to Job 41:11 which states, “Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Everything under the heavens is mine. WEB” With his statement concerning God’s glory forever, Paul makes clear that all of creation belongs to the Lord. We simply live in it and are part of it. All things are of God and through him.

Concerning God, Paul expresses that all things are to him. In other words, all things exist to serve his purpose. Creation reflects his glory and supports his plan to create a righteous family here on earth and ultimately in heaven. For that, his is the glory forever.

Glory to God

Who has given God anything so valuable that the Lord owes them in return? The answer is clear. No one can give God anything outside of worship, credit, and praise. Everything in creation already belongs to him. Our creator is the originator of all good things. That is why the glory belongs to him.

Isaiah 55:8-9 speaks of the greatness of God saying, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. KJV” Because of his greatness, it is enough that we give him praise and our worship. We cannot outdo the Lord. We cannot give him what is already his, but we can recognize his glory forever!

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for the good things of life. Thank you for the promise of good things to come in heaven. Grant me wisdom and guide my feet into your house. The glory is yours. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
