Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19 WEB
On a mountain in Galilee, Jesus gave the great commission to the eleven remaining disciples. He commanded them to make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Christ instructed them to teach the new disciples to obey everything that he had commanded them to do.
Spreading the Word of God
The word of God was going out into the world. To accomplish this, the disciples of Jesus made new disciples to spread the good news. But what is a disciple? It is a person who submits to the will and example of his master doing only what is commanded of them. The disciple’s job is to share the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The example of Christ and his love transformed the world and still does to this day. We are not yet finished with the great commission. It is now our job to share the word and make disciples of all nations.
What are you doing to spread the gospel? Have you given your testimony? Have you shared your love of God and Christ? Do you pray to win souls or do you preach? Do you sing songs of praise? Have you confessed your belief to others? Whatever you do by Christ’s example let’s pray that we are effective in carrying out the great Commission of the Lord.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for the good news of the gospel. Guide me to share your love with the world. Prepare listeners to hear your word and use me to bring the good news of salvation to as many people as you will put into my life. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
