Christ Strengthens Me

Christ Strengthens Me

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 WEB

Obviously, this scripture does not grant permission to do anything we want. Then, how do we use this scripture? How do we put it into practice? It may be best to apply this to overcoming adversity in life. When living a life of service, Jesus will help us to overcome the obstacles that present themselves.

In the context of the passage, Paul is revealing his gratefulness for the concern the Philippians had shown him. In a larger sense, Paul is encouraging believers that no matter how difficult the circumstances, Christ will always support us and give us strength.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. WEB” This scripture relates to the difficulty of a rich man being saved. No matter how impossible things may seem, with Jesus and God, all things are possible. We receive our strength to sacrifice, to endure, and to persevere through our faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer: “Father God, lead me into a mature relationship with Jesus Christ that I may do all things in your will through Christ who strengthens me. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
