Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her: Proverbs 31:28 WEB
There are many qualities of a God-fearing man or a God-fearing woman. Humble, wise, and faithful, God-fearing men and women love one another with actions and sincerity. They are willing to sacrifice for family and friends alike. But above all else, they serve the Lord. Because of this, they conduct their public and private lives with gentle, caring spirits.
Proverbs 31 is a description of a woman who loves the Lord saying her children “call her blessed.” Glowing terms describe her. The passage describes a Godly woman’s value as far above fine jewels like rubies. Being made in the image of God, the woman of God is trustworthy, hardworking, generous, and talented. It is for these reasons and many more that others call her blessed.
A Child of God
God adopts a woman who believes in Christ into his family as one of his children. This is described in Romans 8:15 which states, “For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” A woman of God is a child of God.
And yet, a woman is special among the members of mankind. She is uniquely capable of giving life. When married, she is a respected helpmate for her husband. A man is truly blessed by a wife who is also a woman of God. She commands the love and respect of her husband and children. She is admired by good people everywhere bringing glory to God through the way she lives her life.
Proverbs 31:25-27 gives some of the reasons why her children call her blessed saying, “Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness. WEB” This is a wife and mother worthy of praise.
Prayer: “Father God, thank you for your holy word. Bless the women who love you and serve you. Give her loyal family and friends. Fill her days with joy. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
