Making the Most of Opportunity

Making the Most of Opportunity

making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16 NIV

We live in a world that is full of temptations and snares. Every day there are opportunities to do good and there are opportunities to conform to the world and decline the will of God.

Paul knew that his days were numbered. He was being persecuted and he knew that each day could be his last. He wanted believers in Christ to understand that they needed to make the most of each opportunity, each day.

The Fruit of the Spirit

So many people believe they are Christians but live worldly lives. What is the evidence that God is working in your life? Are you expressing the fruits of the Holy Spirit? The Bible teaches that the fruit of the Holy Spirit is, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.” As Christians we should express these traits.

Even more, we should work to share the word of God and share the Gospel with those who might receive it. We do not want to get to the end of life only to look back at all the lost opportunities to help establish God’s kingdom here on Earth. Let’s make the most of each day, in service to the Lord, and obedience to God’s word.

Prayer: “Father God, help me to make the most of every opportunity you have given me to share your word. Help me to be effective in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”
