The Right Time

The Right Time

For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 WEB

Chapter five of Paul’s letter to the Romans begins with a strong statement of justification by faith in Christ. Paul stresses the peace repentant sinners have with God due to the grace of God and our faith in Jesus Christ. Further, Paul writes of the hope we have in the glory of God. Because the Lord poured love into our hearts through his Holy Spirit, we have the reassurance of God’s love present with us at all times. The love of God is not something remote but rather something we carry in our hearts always.

God’s timing is perfect. When Paul wrote that Jesus died “at the right time,” he teaches God’s perfect timing. Too weak, or guilty of sin ourselves, to overcome the wages of our transgressions, Jesus took our sins upon himself and died for the ungodly. As Paul writes in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. KJV”

Christ Died for Us

In the midst of human history, two thousand years ago, God sent Christ into the world at the right time. Our Father sent our Savior into the fallen world to call sinners to repentance. God sent Jesus to fulfill his plan for the salvation of mankind. Through Jesus, the Lord offered his grace and peace to all who turn away from sin. Because of the love of God and the promise of our resurrected Savior, we have the hope of eternal life in the kingdom of heaven.

The Lord lived, died, and rose from the tomb in the most significant moments of human history. God knew the right time to insert our Savior into the world to have the precise impact he desired. At the right time, God gave his Son for the sins of humanity to demonstrate his love for mankind. As Paul wrote in Romans 5:8, “But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. WEB” The Lord did these things at such a time and in such a way that the world would never forget.

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for your perfect timing. Thank you for the truth of your holy word. Fill me with the presence of your love as I wait for you in life. Guide me to do what you want when you want. In Jesus name – Amen”

We Wait in Hope

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20 NIV Psalm 33 is full of praise and rejoicing in the goodness of God. The Septuagint credits King David with writing it. Otherwise, we have no clear indication of the author. The Psalm is a...

Cast Your Cares on the Lord

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22 NIV Have you ever suffered the betrayal of a friend? If so, many biblical figures endured similar circumstances. Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of...

Beware of Covetousness

He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.” Luke 12:15 – WEB In our modern lives, materialism and consumerism are central themes. But the Lord warns us to beware of...
