Reconciled to God

Reconciled to God

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10 KJV

As Christians, we are children of God and will not experience his judgment. Thanks to the sacrifice made through Jesus, we are free from sin and reconciled to God. The debt that we owed has been paid by the blood of Christ.

This scripture focuses on the relationship we have with God. Living in rebellion, sin separated us from God. Because of sin, we were enemies of God. With our sin wiped away and resolved through the blood of Christ, we enter a personal relationship with the Father as his adopted children.

We are saved from condemnation and considered righteous because of the sinless life that Jesus lived and the sacrifice he made on our behalf. Being saved by his life refers to Christ having lived without sin. Beyond that, it indicates that because Jesus rose from the dead and lives, we have the promise of eternal life.

Prayer: “Father God, thank you for your mercy. Thank you for the relationship I enjoy with you because of my belief in Jesus Christ. Lead me to do your will and live a life that is pleasing to you. Help me to better understand your word as I live in obedience to you. In Jesus’ name – Amen”
